Tom and Mandy Arrowsmith
Hillacres Pride in southern Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, consists of about 100 cows and heifers, managed by Tom and Mandy Arrowsmith. The cows of Hillacres are their first love and pride is taken in providing excellent care. Cows pasture on a variety of grasses through out the warm months. Tom and Mandy started Hillacres Pride as a way to sustain the family farm and raise their 4 children as farm kids. Both sets of Tom and Mandy’s parents are vital to the daily operation of the farm.
The venture began with aged cheddar and Colby cheeses. In 2008 they will add soft cheeses to their line. Cheeses are hand made in small batches allowing for a unique flavor that is creamy and delicious. All of the meats sold at Hillacres Pride are primarily grass-fed and do not contain added hormones or antibiotics. No additives or solutions are injected prior to packing.
Our beef comes from Jersey steers and is dry aged for a minimum of 3 weeks providing a tender cut of meat. A variety of steaks and roasts as well as ground beef, beef cubes, and soup bones are offered.
We raise heritage breed lamb and our pork, mainly from a Tamworth and Berkshire cross, is known for its excellent flavor and high ratio of lean meat to fat. Our bacon is cured in a sweet pickle brine and contains no nitrates. Our sausage does not have any by-products, MSG, fillers or binders.
