Quiet Creek
Kutztown, PA
Quiet Creek Farm CSA is an 8 acre farm located on land leased from the Rodale Institute in Kutztown, PA. It is a mixed vegetable farm growing more than fifty different vegetable crops on farmland that has been certified organic for 30+ years. The farm serves a community of 200 local CSA members, as well as the Headhouse Farmer’s Market. At Quiet Creek Farm, compost and cover crops are our only source of fertlizer, and we never, ever, use chemical pesticides, herbicides, or genetically modified seed. We aim to constantly improve the farm’s soil in order to grow strong and healthy plants. We believe the food we eat is only as healthy as the soil in which it grows.
Our belief that variety is the spice of life is reflected in the produce we grow. We specialize in heirloom and specialty vegetable varieties, grown for full flavor and unique appearance. We grow nearly twenty different varieties of tomatoes, as well as specialty varieties of carrots, peppers, squash, melons, and other vegetables. All vegetables are harvested by hand, at the height of ripeness, to ensure maximum flavor and nutrition. At Quiet Creek Farm we believe that food grown and consumed with respect and dignity is of service to both the health of our land and our communities.
