John and Alice Weygandt
Stargazers Vineyard owned and operated by John and Alice Weygandt, was planted in 1979. What started out as an avocation for the Weygandt’s turned into a full time commercial winery in 1996 and today is a thriving vineyard and winery producing only premium vinifera wines.
Now in the 30th leaf the original vines have served their duty and are being replaced with new vines of improved clones and varieties. 2008 also marks the year that the second generation to work the land, tend the vines, and continue the Stargazers legacy has been set in motion. Brian and Jennifer Dickerson will carry on the sustainable farm philosophies and traditions that the Weygandt’s have work so hard at developing on this farm overlooking the Brandywine Valley from its south facing slopes north of Unionville, PA in Chester County.
Available at market this year a full selection of wines including our oak fermented Chardonnay that we offered last season as well as a un-oaked version “Solar Celebration”. Many of you know about our Dornfleder- Nouveau style wine that was released last year, in June we will release another bottling as a fully finished wine that will be an easy drinking summer red.
