Community Nutrition Program
The North Penn Community Health Foundation, The Food Trust and members of the community have teamed up to address food insecurity in the North Penn area. The Community Nutrition Program has been developed to help individuals and families in the North Penn community receive healthy foods through the emergency food system by increasing the amount of fresh and nutritionally rich foods available in local pantries. Together, we can make sure families not only get the food they need, but that they get the nutrients they need as well.

Exciting Activities:
The Vegetable Basket Program 2008: This Mennonite-based program has produced a bounty of garden-fresh produce by encouraging community members to plant extra in their home garden. Every Monday during the summer months, this produce is picked up by the local food pantries for their clients.
Give the Gift of Good Health: Each winter holiday season, the Coalition in partnership with The Food Trust and local supermarkets holds a food drive to encourage fresh food donations for the pantries. Last December they collected nearly 1,000 pounds of fresh food!
